A Bit About Me

I'm David Lindsey, a REALTOR® and Seniors Real Estate Specialist (SRES®) with Front Gate Realty in Ridgeland, Mississippi. Before real estate, I spent 25 years in pharmaceutical sales management focused on disease states that impact older adults — so I've been working alongside seniors and their families for most of my career. As a Senior Move Manager and Seniors Real Estate Specialist, I now help people navigate some of the biggest transitions later in life: right‑sizing to a home that fits better, making sense of an inherited property, or simply figuring out whether to stay, sell, or explore something new. I speak to church groups, senior centers, civic clubs, and employee groups who want clear, calm information to share with the older adults they care about. These workshops come from the same conversations I have every day — practical, no-pressure guidance designed to help you and your family make confident decisions about home and housing.

Popular Workshop Topics

Move or Improve?
Making a Confident Housing Decision After 60

Choosing what to do with the home you’ve lived in for years can feel overwhelming. This workshop walks seniors and families through a simple, step‑by‑step way to decide whether it makes more sense to stay put, make some changes, or begin planning a move.

Who it’s for:

  • Seniors who want to think ahead about their housing, not wait for a crisis

  • Adult children who are starting conversations with Mom or Dad about “what’s next”

  • Church groups, senior centers, and civic clubs that want clear, neutral information to share with their members

What they’ll learn:

  • How to evaluate whether your current home is still a good “fit” for safety, cost, and lifestyle

  • The real‑world pros and cons of staying, selling, or right‑sizing to something smaller or more convenient

  • Practical next steps to take in the next 6–12 months, even if you’re not ready to move

Format:

30–45 minute workshop plus Q&A

Downsizing Without Drama
A Step‑by‑Step Guide for Seniors and Families

Downsizing a lifetime of belongings can feel emotional and exhausting for everyone involved. This workshop gives seniors and families a clear, step‑by‑step roadmap to simplify the process, reduce stress, and keep relationships intact along the way.

Who it’s for:

  • Seniors who know they need to “start somewhere” but feel overwhelmed by decades of possessions

  • Adult children who want to help without causing tension or hurt feelings

  • Church groups, senior centers, and civic clubs looking for practical, family‑friendly guidance on downsizing

What they’ll learn:

  • How to break a house full of belongings into smaller, manageable projects instead of “all at once”

  • Simple ways to decide what to keep, what to let go, and what to do with sentimental items

  • How to involve family members and minimize conflict when opinions differ

  • When it makes sense to bring in outside help such as organizers, estate sale companies, or move managers

Format:
30–45 minute workshop plus Q&A

Inherited a House in Mississippi?
Smart First Steps for Heirs

Inheriting a house can feel like a blessing and a burden at the same time. This workshop gives heirs a clear, calm roadmap for what to do next so they can honor their loved one, work well with family, and avoid costly mistakes with the property.

Who it’s for:

  • Adult children or other heirs who have recently inherited a home in Mississippi

  • Families who are trying to make decisions from a distance or juggle multiple siblings’ opinions

  • Church groups, senior centers, and civic clubs that want to equip members with practical information before a crisis

What they’ll learn:

  • The smartest first steps to take in the first 30–60 days after inheriting a home

  • Key questions to ask about the will, probate, and the condition of the property

  • Options for keeping, renting, or selling the home — and what to consider with each path

  • Common pitfalls to avoid when heirs rush, delay, or rely on “word of mouth” instead of solid guidance

Format:
30–45 minute workshop plus Q&A
